Fancy sprucing up your garden in Stevenage?

Friday, March 11th, 2011

When we had a complete garden overhaul, I knew that I definitely wanted an area of block paving to be a feature in our garden. I have always wanted a place where we can have a table and chairs so we can eat outside when the weather is nice. My best friend has a gorgeous garden, with a great paving area, so I asked her which company she had used for the paving. She told me that she had received a fantastic service from www.blockpavingstevenage.co.uk. I called them up for a quote, and I was really impressed by the affordable price that they offered me. Everything in her garden is completely perfect, so I was cheeky and asked her who did her fence too! She told me that she only ever uses one company, www.gardenfenceshertford.co.uk.

Tree Surgeons in Hertford

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011

Our neighbours who live behind our house have been complaining for ages about the trees at the end of our back garden. We really like them, but they say that they have grown too tall and are blocking their light. For a while we tried to brush them off, but then they became quite adamant that we had to cut them shorter. We gave in, but only agreed if they would pay for it, seeing as we didn’t mind how tall they were. Well, that turned into another saga, and in the end we decided to pay for half of the costs each. They looked for a tree surgeon, and I have to admit that they made a good choice when they decided on www.treesurgeonshertford.co.uk.

Living on my own

Tuesday, March 1st, 2011

I have a confession to make… I have never ironed a shirt. Well, that is not strictly true, when I first moved out of parents’ house last month, I tried to iron my shirt, and I burnt it. It was a disaster. I have just started a new job, and I have to be smart in suits and ties, so I needed to either learn how to iron a shirt, or pay someone else to do it. As probably one of the laziest men alive, I decided to pay someone else to do it. I looked online and found www.ironingservicesstevenage.co.uk, and I have now decided that they are my new personal saviours.

Roller Banners in Hertfordshire

Friday, February 18th, 2011

There are some things that you never think about where you’d find them, until you need them urgently! When I was promoted to the head of events team, I only had one week before a major event for my company. The former head of events left in quite an acrimonious manner, and took with her all of her contacts, so we had to start from scratch. We needed large promotional stands and roller banners, so we had our work cut out finding a company who could  create all of the items we needed in time. Luckily, one of my colleagues found out about  www.rollerbannershertfordshire.co.uk.

Roofing Contractors in Hertford

Friday, February 18th, 2011

Sometimes you really need to call in a professional to do a job. I always try to repair everything in my house myself, but when it comes to electrical and roofing repairs, I have to draw the line. When  moved into my house I knew that the roof wasn’t in the best shape, but I didn’t expect all of the leaks that started the second it threatened to rain. I needed help fast, so I got in touch with www.roofingcontractorshertford.co.uk.

Hoddesdon kitchen company helps out in BBC1′s DIY SOS programme

Thursday, February 17th, 2011

A company that supplies kitchens in Hoddesdon offered a helping hand to a single dad who had had his home left in a terrible state by cowboy builders.  The transformation of the house will be featured on the BBC1 programme DIY SOS.

The new kitchen was supplied by Crimson Kitchens in Hoddesdon, who you can find at the Hoddesdon Industrial Centre off Pindar Road. The gorgeous kitchen was installed in the home of the slightly overwhelmed homeowner, Mike Purley.

Bathroom Installers in Stevenage

Tuesday, February 15th, 2011

When my wife started to need to use a wheelchair, we had to redesign our whole house so that she would be able to get round easily. Our bathroom was too small to fit the wheelchair in, so we converted the spare room into a big bathroom. We wanted to find a company who could install the bathroom efficiently and to a really high standard, and luckily we found a bathroom installer in Stevenage. They said that they would work very hard to install the bathroom that would meet our requirements.

Carpentry services in Hertford

Monday, February 7th, 2011

I have to be honest with you, I didn’t really know what carpenters actually did until my husband said that we needed to employ one. After we bought our house, we needed a complete refit and new skirting boards all around the house. My husband said that we should start looking for a carpenter who could make the skirting boards for us, and it finally clicked. Of course I knew that they worked with wood, but I think I always thought that builder did everything in the house, but they don’t. Carpentry is a very specific skill and you need professionals with experience to help you out. Luckily we found www.carpentryserviceshertford.co.uk.

UPVC windows in Stevenage

Thursday, January 20th, 2011

When my landlord kindly decided to get his house repossessed I suddenly found myself homeless. It wasn’t a great situation at the age of 35, but at least I had the option to move back in with my mum for a bit.

She was happy to have me, and I was happy to be there in the absence of other places to go. However, I did see problems arising when I realised that she still had the windows the house was originally built with. The house was freezing! I immediately got in touch with a UPVC windows company in Stevenage to find out how much it would be for her to get double glazing. (more…)

Tree surgeon services in Stevenage

Wednesday, January 19th, 2011

When my girlfriend and I bought our first house together we hadn’t really been bothered about having a garden. However, as it happened the house we loved which was right within our price range had a front and back garden, which were horribly overgrown.

Neither of us have particularly green fingers, so we didn’t really think about the garden. It was only when the neighbours came and asked us to cut the very overgrown hedges that we even thought about doing anything with it. It was too dense for us to look at, so we called in www.treesurgeonservicesstevenage.co.uk. (more…)
