I have always wanted to get my tongue pierced, but it has taken me years to pluck up the courage. I also had to invest a lot of time convincing my friends and family that it was a good idea. I should have just gone and got it done without consulting anyone, but I always consider things far too much. I realised that my Mum and Dad were never going to agree to it, so I decided one day to find my nearest body piercing studio and get my tongue pierced that day. You wouldn’t have thought that hair could have such an effect on your mood, but when I had a bad cut I swear I went into a state of depression for a few days. It was horrible! The hairdresser had practically scalped me!

I was worried that all I would be able to do was wait until it grew out, so I planned on just not leaving the house for the next three months until that happened.
