One thing I hate about arranging trips is that all the different parts of the organisation are farmed out to different people. One person gets the food, another gets the venue, another gets the entertainment, and another gets the coach hire. It’s nothing short of a miracle when everything comes together like you wanted it to.

When my Scout group was due to go en masse on a trip to London, I panicked bigtime! Other leaders had for the other jobs, and all I had to do was organise the coach hire. The family reunion had been planned for months. Every member of the Jackson family we had been able to track down was going to be meeting in Cornwall for a whole weekend of family fun. It was going to be amazing.
