Venues for Hire in Skipton
Tuesday, October 12th, 2010Last weekend was a fantastic weekend for weather. To be honest, we didn’t have anything planned as we were banking on it being rather dull and dreary as it has been for months. So, getting out and about came quite unexpectedly.
Because it was so lovely outside, it seemed a great opportunity to take our new car for a drive up to the dales. Living in the heart of Yorkshire, we’re lucky enough to be able to drive a short distance to reach the beautiful villages of Grassington, Kettlewell and Arncliffe. But today we fancied a change.
We drove around 12 miles from Kilnsey to the town of Skipton. Skipton is often described as the ‘gateway to the Yorkshire Dales’ and you can completely see why. Skipton’s such a gorgeous place and there’s something to suit everybody’s needs. There are small shops, restaurants and a market alongside the main tourist attraction that is Skipton Castle. It’s definitely a worthwhile trip for anyone considering a visit. The fish and chips are great too!
After a walk around Skipton, we went to a lovely country pub for a spot of home cooked, luxury food and drink. After all, it would be rude not to visit Skipton’s finest food retreats wouldn’t it?
On our way home, we spotted a gorgeous looking village hall, situated in the Upper Wharfedale valley. In a couple of month’s time, my husband and I are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and are looking for a venue to hold the party for family and friends.
