My friend Kelly and I met on summer holiday when we were 7 and we have been best friends ever since. Some of my friends think it’s weird that I can be such good friends with a girl without her being my girlfriend, but it has never been like that with me and Kelly. I was really touched when my brother asked me to be his best man. We have always been very close but I never thought that he would pick me over all of his friends so I was very surprised. He is three years older than me and he has always been more muscular and much bigger in stature. I wouldn’t say that I am insecure about it, but I certainly felt a bit worried about standing next to him in all of the photos. I decided to try and get in the best shape that I could so I felt more confident about the photos. I have been working at my new job for six months now and I am really enjoying it. I was really pleased when my manager asked if I would like to apply for another position in the company that would mean a big promotion. I got through to the first stage of the interview process and for the next stage I needed to present a new business idea to the panel that were interviewing me. When my friend said she was starting up her own business last year, I thought she was mad. It seemed like such a stressful thing to embark on just two years after having her first child. But the business she was starting up was something she enjoyed, so that’s why it has worked. She set up a child-friendly café with a play area in it, which fits in really well with family life and allows her to do the things she enjoys. She gets to meet other parents, do baking for the café and of course take her son to work with her. I have been helping out as well. I'm not really the outdoorsy type, so when my boyfriend and his family invited me to go with them on a walking holiday in Pembrokeshire I immediately worried about what I was going to wear! I am not the kind of guy that gets dressed up unless it's for a special occasion, but when it's a special occasion, I like to go all out. My friend was having a country wedding, so I decided that I would dress up as a country gentlemen for the wedding; I've always wanted an excuse to wear tweed!
