Parking (And Shopping) News
So, it seems Reading will be the place to do all the New Year Sales shopping. I have to say that I love shopping, it probably is my biggest vice. It’s not just about clothes shopping for me, I love shopping for everything. When my boyfriend and I moved in together I spent every free second that I had shopping for things for our new house. There wasn’t evough room in the house for all of my decorative stuff! I did buy some essential things as well, like plates and cutlery, but the most fun stuff to buy were the ornaments, bedding and cushions.
Oxford City Council has agreed to introduce new charges in the City Council-run car parks, a 15 per cent increase from 1st January 2009.
I already hear enough complaints about parking in Oxford - and from those who have abandoned the City centre to join the Reading revellers instead – so this is yet again another nail in the coffin. Parking is such a nightmare everywhere I suppose. But it is annoying when the prices just go up and up. The last time I was in town my jaw nearly dropped to the floor when I saw how much an hour cost at the meter!
Hardly encouraging tourists and shoppers is it? But to be honest with you, there isn’t much that can put me off going into town and hitting the shops! Maybe I’ll be heading to shopping centres in the future though, I love the fact that they have free parking. That definitely encourages me and my shopping habit!
