My wife finally put her foot down and insisted that I get a garden shed to keep my oily old mountain bike in. The hall carpet had taken a bit of a battering, and her patience had worn thin.

I have to say that the idea appealed to me too – a cave for me to hide in and to practise my new hobby of mending retro stereo equipment in. (more…)

Everyone is getting quite excited about the Spring. Except me of course as I now have to endure all my neighbours tending to their gardens and then tutting slightly at the state of mine.

Talk about keeping up with the Jones’s. It’s just not my thing. I have far more pressing concerns, like fixing that dripping tap, than getting down on my hands and knees and trying to decide which of the shoots are weeds. (more…)

I have decided this is the year when I make my garden look really good.

Time spent now will reap its rewards later in the year and the garden will look blooming marvellous.

I have bought the gardening books telling me how to make my garden fit for a visit from the Lord Mayor and I am all set to go. (more…)
