Sanctuary needs its appeal to take flight

The Safewings bird sanctuary in Northamptonshire is trying to raise £5,000 before March this year to save their sanctuary.

The wildlife specialists, which is based in Isham, covers six counties and helps over 75 species and some endangered birds. Safewings was formed in 1966 and works with Defra, RSPB, Wildlife Trusts, police and veterinary practices.

In order to help care for injured birds, Safewings has created the Wildlife Veterinary Treatment Fund (WLTVF). The Avenue Veterinary Hospital in Kettering use the fund to help care for injured birds found by members of the public. Therefore vets in Northampton have the opportunity to use the funds at their discretion.
