County’s true grit to keep roads moving
Wednesday, January 26th, 2011Pre-planning and grit storage in Northampton helped the area cope very well with the adverse weather conditions that the country experienced this winter.
Arctic conditions and inches of snow in the area has meant that a lot of grit was needed to clear the icy roads, but the foresight and grit storage in Northampton has resulted in 6,000 tonnes of grit being left in stocks.
