We finally bit the bullet earlier on this year and applied for planning permission to knock down the derelict barns on our four-acre land and build a new house on it for our daughter and her husband.

We had been thinking of doing it for ages, but had never got around to it, now we were sure, and we wanted to get it done as soon as possible.
