Coronation Street’s 50th Anniversary
Tuesday, November 9th, 2010Coronation Street will be celebrating 50 years on our screens this December. The soap that was created by Tony Warren, was first broadcast on 9th December 1960, making it the world’s longest running soap opera. Set in a cobbled street in Weatherfield, Manchester, the soap has had some cameos over the years from some very famous names and faces. In 1966, the Oscar winner Sir Ben Kingsley appeared as Ron Jenkins and Spice Girl Mel B enjoyed a stint at the checkout in Bettabuys in 1993. (more…)
