My great aunt died recently and I had to travel into London for the funeral. This would normally be a big deal for me, as I am not used to being in the big capital and I don’t very often travel far from my home in Mansfield. But it was even more of an issue due to the fact that a major project was taking place at my home.

I was very reluctant to be away while I was having solar panels fitted to the roof. I felt I wanted to be there to oversee the work. There are plenty of ways to keep your fuel bills down these days, it’s just a case of finding the right solution for you. We decided to invest in a new fireplace for our flat in London, and it has been a great decision. When my friend’s business started to take off, she needed to stop working from home and find premises. I became project manager for a while, helping her to find an office space and set up her business. It was definitely a full-time job for a few months, as there was quite a lot to think about.

I have been working a s a care worker for the last few years and I really enjoy it. It can be very challenging but generally the good outweighs the bad. I have finally taken the plunge and started my own business. I have been planning to open my own accountancy firm for the past three years, but I have finally found the capital that I needed to launch my company.
