Interesting study although I'm not sure how they conducted this. Surely if you have a bigger ground you have the chance to make a bigger noise?

Surprised that Pompey aren't in the top 3 as they are always talked about as having the best support, especially to away games. Also, not surprised that Man U are not included. They only seem to make any noise when the team score, which a little too often for my liking!

Whoever compiled this list is not a native of Hull, and whoever repeats it without adverse comment is not a native of Hull. It's pure rubbish.
Just one example; we don't say "curld", we say "cowld". Anyone who thinks we say "curld" is just not listening, and has no right to comment on our accent and pronunciation.

Hi there,

KCOM, whom I work for, (but don’t speak for now) have been approached by other ISP's that are never satisfied with the profits they would make from residents, and not prepared to put up the money. KCOM, conversely, have invested millions in the network; offering good phone and broadband services. KCOM's economic record as an investor & employer are second to none.

The situation actually arises from the local councils 70 or so years ago decision, that Hull be separate from the rest of the UK's phone network.

Since then, KCOM have made sure Hull and surrounding areas have a really good service. I have used BT and other servers, they are not that great. Karoo isn’t perfect, but if it does go wrong at least I don’t have to spend £1 per minute to call an offshore call centre who normally can’t help me.

History shows us that most teams coming into the Premiership struggle. It also shows us that the team qualifying through the play offs suffers more than most - Derby being the latest to highlight the problem.
The issue facing teams coming up is that they have to spend money to stay up and if they overspend and ultimately fail then they face financial ruin. The best they can hope for is either to hang on by the skin of their teeth or to come back down again but with a stronger more experienced squad, which will have a better chance second time round. i.e. Sunderland. Having said that, Birmingham proved that even coming straight back up doesn't guarantee a better result.

Clubs are more aware of the risks these days and I'm sure Hull won't over stretch themselves, but I'm equally sure they wont survive. The fans though will love it - it will be a roller coaster ride and there will be some surprise results no doubt, but they will love watching the best teams in the country.
