Solar is stress free

Posted on November 1st, 2011 by charlie

I don’t think it will be long before nearly every house you look at has solar panels on the roof! When we looked into getting solar panels fitted to our roof, I never really thought we would actually go ahead with the work. But when we found http://www.solarpvscarborough.co.uk I was really surprised how affordable it was.

I have to be honest, my husband and I were definitely more interested in reducing our monthly energy bills than saving the environment, but now our home is generating its own electricity, it feels good. It feels like we are doing our bit.

Bathroom Lighting Ideas

Posted on September 15th, 2011 by admin

If you are revamping or redesigning your bathroom one area worth paying some attention to is the lighting. Bathrooms are wet and damp environments so some consideration of this is required when looking for a light fixture, however if you have just spent a small fortune on new bathroom furniture you really want the place to look great with well designed bathroom lighting.

Looking for a new conservatory

Posted on June 30th, 2011 by charlie

We are a young family and while we would love to move house to somewhere bigger it is not really financially viable.  We do need some extra space however and we decided that the best way to achieve this was by getting a conservatory.  We looked round at a number of companies and the best by far were www.aluminiumconservatorieschesham.co.uk and www.timberconservatorieschesham.co.uk

We have spent ages looking at the different types of conservatory we can have and all the shapes and sizes that would fit on our house.  We want it to be an extra room rather than a sun room, and want it to be a room we can use all year-round with underfloor heating.  We have found these companies so helpful and they have spent so long with us helping us to choose the best conservatory for our needs.

Work is now underway on our conservatory and we are so excited at the thought of having a large new room to use as a dining and lounging area.  The kids will love it too as they can use it when their friends and young cousins come round to play.

It seems we didn't need to move house after all.  A conservatory was just what we needed.  It will also add value to our house and more than cover the cost of itself.

Looking after your property

Posted on May 11th, 2011 by Sandy

I have a few properties in the UK which I keep as investment properties.  I let them out and while I don’t seem to have much trouble with them there can be issues from time to time.  For instance, a property I have in St Ives: a beautiful part of the world, had a problem with its trees in the garden.  One was deemed as dangerous and I needed to get a tree surgeon to look at it for me.  Thankfully I knew about www.treesurgeonsstives.co.uk Read the rest of this entry »

We are currently extending our home and I am so excited at the prospect of getting a brand new kitchen.  However, we want to try and be as careful with our spending as possible and will be using our exisitng domestic appliances.  The problem is that they are all a bit old and could do with a few repairs and tlc.  A friend recommended we call www.domesticappliancerepairsrowleyregis.co.uk

I have some business premises in Richmond and have been having a few security issues.  The premises are on the outskirts of a residential area and a bit isolated.  I have tried various methods of security, but nothing seems to be working.  I have now taken the advice of a few business contacts and been in touch with www.dogsecurityrichmond.co.uk Read the rest of this entry »

Glazing Repairs Watford

Posted on February 24th, 2011 by Sandy

A crack has appeared in our shop window, which needs to be fixed.  It’s the main window for the shop and acts as a focal point for shoppers passing by.  A neighbouring shop owner has given me the name of a company offering glazing repairs in Watford: www.glazingrepairswatford.co.uk

Hand Blenders

Posted on February 18th, 2011 by admin

My daughter has just reached the age where she can start eating solids.  I have to say that it is a major learning curve for me as I have to find food that she likes and that is easily digestible.  I don’t want to buy baby food: I want to try and make it all fresh myself.  I don’t know what I would do without my selection of blenders.

When it comes to preparing food for my daughter hand blenders are the way forward I have decided.  They get the food to the perfect consistency.  It was a friend who recommended making the food this way. Read the rest of this entry »

I am in the process of building an extension on the side of my house.  I have drafted in family and friends to help me, but as we get nearer the finishing stage I am seeking an expert plasterer.  I need someone who does a great job but doesn’t charge over the odds.  A work colleague has suggested I try www.plasteringservicessawbridgeworth.co.uk Read the rest of this entry »
