I’ve decided to buy a new kitchen but this year I am really going to push the boat out and have it properly designed.

In the past I have simply done a few drawing on the back of a beer mat and then gone out and bought a flat pack. I have then built it myself realising towards the end that I have either a gap to fill or too much furniture in too small a kitchen. (more…)

All about granite

Granite is a hard natural igneous rock that has a wonderful visible crystalline texture.  It forms by the slow crystallisation of molten magma that cools deep down beneath the Earth’s surface.

The word ‘granite’ comes from the Latin word granum, which means grain and which refers to the granular texture of the rock.  Granite is the strongest, hardest and most durable of any building stone. (more…)
