New Year Improvemnets

Tuesday, January 17th, 2012

I have been living in a half finished house for over a year now and I have decided that 2012 is the year that I get everything done. When the cold crept in it made me realise that my life would be so much better (and warmer) if I had got a fire fitted months ago, but I was too lazy to sort it out. That's why I went to www.electricfiresbridgend.co.uk this weekend and finally got the fire that I have wanted for a long time at a fantastic price. I was so impressed with the showroom and all of the fires that they had available and all of their staff were great.

I have been making great progress arranging my house but I have to admit that I have become slightly caught up in it all and made some impulse purchases. One of the things that I bought which wasn't on my list was a hot tub from www.hottubslichfield.co.uk. It may seem like a silly purchase, especially in this weather, but it really is fantastic. When I come home from a long day at work and I want to relax, I just head back to my hot tub. It is so relaxing, I don't know what I would do without it!

Wood burning stoves in Edinburgh

Tuesday, November 9th, 2010

My family and I had recently decided to set up some holiday cottages in the grounds of our lovely home in rural Edinburgh. We had bought the four properties and were in the process of furnishing them before we could let them out to visitors.

They were nearly done, but we wanted to give them a little something extra to give our guests that lovely rustic feel we thought they would like. We decided to go for traditional wood burning stoves in the cabins and had a look at www.woodburningstovesedinburgh.co.uk to see what they could offer us.

Antique fireplaces in Edinburgh

Tuesday, November 9th, 2010

My daughter and I moved into a gorgeous old house on the outskirts of Edinburgh about two years ago. It’s a lovely house, it feels nice and homey and traditional, but it has all the mod cons to make it easy to live in.

I’ve always felt like there was something missing from the house though, especially in the living room. It just didn’t feel quite right. My daughter and I had spent months trying to decide what we could do to make it better and after all the time deliberating we settled on the fact we needed a new old-fashioned fireplace.

Fireplace restoration in North West London

Thursday, September 9th, 2010

Finding our dream Victorian home was so exciting. Sadly it was in desperate need of some TLC, but I didn’t mind as I was looking for a home project to get stuck into. A lot of the original features were still in place, but many were not in a good way. The fireplace in the living room had been painted over several times and the grate was seriously rusty.

It definitely looked like a job for the experts.

I searched on our computer for fireplace restoration in North West London where we had bought our house. (more…)

Wood Burning Stoves

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

There’s something magical about wood burning stoves. The mere mention of the name conjures up cosy night in winter sat round the fire with a hot mug of cocoa, a good book and the dog curled up by your feet.

With this image in mind I decided that I would buy one for the house in readiness for the autumn, which will be here quicker than we think. (more…)
