Thursday, February 24th, 2011

A crack has appeared in our shop window, which needs to be fixed.  It’s the main window for the shop and acts as a focal point for shoppers passing by.  A neighbouring shop owner has given me the name of a company offering glazing repairs in Watford: www.glazingrepairswatford.co.uk

Double Glazing Harlow

Tuesday, February 15th, 2011

I’m desperate to look at some options for double glazing in Harlow.

When I first bought my small house in Harlow, I fully accepted the fact that the property didn’t have upvc windows and that it would be something that I would eventually need to look at in a few years to come. Those years have unfortunately now caught up on me and it’s something that I need to start making a priority! (more…)

Double Glazing Windows in Hertford

Monday, September 27th, 2010

The only downside to selling my property is that it doesn’t offer double glazed windows which is a big set back for younger couples who many share some interest in my property.

I have lived in this house for around twenty years and it served a great purpose when there was the whole family living here. However, now there is just my husband and I, we are looking to downsize the property as we don’t need as much space. Like I said though, we are in a bit of a dilemma over the double glazing. One of the major jobs we needed to do first was to replace the windows as the wooden sashes were almost completely rotten.

My wife wanted to install double glazing to shut out air pollution from a nearby main road. I went online to look up upvc windows in the Hinckley area. (more…)

Hardwood vs Softwood Windows

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010

I need some new windows at home and I have been debating whether I should replace my old ones with PVC or hardwood.

The beauty about PVC is that once they are in you do not need to paint them every year. I remember the days when I worked in an advertising agency when we came up with a headline for a double-glazing company, which read “Have time on your hand this Summer…not paint!” (more…)

Energy saving home improvements

Monday, January 18th, 2010

Over the past few weeks we have seen temperatures plummet as the snow continues to disrupt everyday life. This poses a dilemma for people who want to keep their houses warm while trying to be more energy efficient at the same time; this is particularly true for the north of England where areas such as Newcastle and Carlisle have been hit with freezing temperatures.

Advantages of fitting double glazing to your home

Thursday, January 14th, 2010

Double glazed windows have become really popular over the past two decades, and as new technology and lower prices hit the market, it now means that more houses than ever have these energy saving windows. City dwellings are the most popular properties being fitted with double glazing, with Birmingham double glazing companies in particular reporting record sales throughout the winter season.
