Parents are perfectionists

Wednesday, November 2nd, 2011

My parents have become real perfectionists as they have got older. I’m sure they weren’t like that when we were all growing up. Everything in their house has to be perfectly in place and matching and co-ordinated. It would have been impossible for them to be that fussy when there were four children growing up in the house! When one of their dining room chairs broke recently, they decided to get an exact replacement made. They didn’t want to buy a new set because they were worried they would not match the table. They decided to enlist the help of http://www.carpentryservicesbridgend.co.uk. The company was brilliant and the very talented staff said they could actually just replace the broken section on my parents’ chair. It looked as good as new.

Bathroom Lighting Ideas

Thursday, September 15th, 2011

If you are revamping or redesigning your bathroom one area worth paying some attention to is the lighting. Bathrooms are wet and damp environments so some consideration of this is required when looking for a light fixture, however if you have just spent a small fortune on new bathroom furniture you really want the place to look great with well designed bathroom lighting.

Contemporary lighting in Cromer

Wednesday, November 10th, 2010

For the past probably three months, my daughter has complained that she wanted her bedroom decorating. As it’s her fifth birthday in a few weeks time, I thought I would get the room decorated all lovely for her whilst she’s away with the grandparents on holiday. To be fair to her, the room is in desperate need of some TLC so I don’t mind spending the money to get it brightened up a little.

Leather Repairs in Swansea

Wednesday, November 10th, 2010

Moving into my new property around two years ago, I remember being so excited because I was buying everything from new for the first time. My credit card was not so thrilled but that’s another story!

I literally bought everything from new bedroom furniture to kitchen utensils to all new carpets. One thing that I did buy new was my lovely chocolate brown leather sofa. I’m so into textures and different trends so I did the whole mix and match theme throughout my house. I mixed my lovely sofa with different throw over materials and let’s not forget my state of the art cushions!

Furniture Stores in Wigton

Tuesday, November 9th, 2010

Having had my little girl two years ago, we have decided to redecorate her room to suit her more as she develops. The room that my daughter is currently in is still very much a nursery and served a great purpose whilst she was a baby.

Whilst we have some spare money available, we’ve decided to decorate her room and are looking at options for furniture in Wigton too. When we originally did the nursery, we didn’t bother replacing all the furniture as we had enough to be doing in preparation for her arrival and I suppose we thought the furniture was in an okay condition. But…how quickly times have changed!

Made To Measure Curtains in Ware

Thursday, November 4th, 2010

As an interior designer, I have to try my hardest to meet all of my customers’ requests. Sometimes you simply cannot find what they are looking for, and you have to find a company who can make the products for you.

I was dealing with a very particular client who had incredibly specific ideas on what he wanted for his home. I tried to find the curtains that he wanted ready made, but I just couldn’t find them. So I had to find someone who could make the curtains for his home. Luckily I found www.madetomeasurecurtainsware.co.uk. To make things awkward, the window measurements for his home were unusual because of the window size, so I really needed experts who could make the curtains that he was looking for to the exact measurement specifications of the room.

Furnishings in Aberystwyth

Thursday, November 4th, 2010

If you’d have asked me last year, I would have said that I absolutely love decorating. But after moving into a new house, and having to decorate every corner of it, the novelty has well and truly worn off. The kitchen was done, both bathrooms were finished and all the carpeting was down, the next thing that I needed was the furnishings.

Blind installation in Brighton

Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010

We were thrilled with our new conservatory, and particularly enjoyed using it over the summer months.

Unfortunately so did the birds from our garden. By the end of the summer, the roof was looking pretty dirty and it was a big job to keep it clean.

My partner decided we should put in some blinds in part to keep the blinding sun out, but also to cover up some of the bird mess.

I searched on the internet for a local blinds company and skimmed through the websites of the first ten. The one that impressed me the most was www.blindinstallationbrighton.co.uk. (more…)

Furniture shops in Blackpool

Tuesday, September 21st, 2010

I wanted a really lovely leather armchair for our living room.

I had based the room’s colour scheme around a room I’d seen in a magazine, and I’d also seen a lovely leather armchair in the article. Sadly, we couldn’t afford the one suggested.

The two shops I knew about didn’t stock anything similar, so my friend suggested searching online for furniture shops in Blackpool. (more…)

Wooden Blinds in Cheadle

Friday, September 17th, 2010

I am looking at getting some blinds fitted in my kitchen from www.woodenblindscheadle.co.uk instead of having those old fashioned curtains hanging in my window!

They are the sort of curtains that I am greatly ashamed of! They have been hung in my kitchen for years and whilst I do attempt to wash them in the washing machine every so often, even that doesn’t seem to get rid of those grubby marks! On top of that, the curtains must have picked up a mighty odour being around cooked food for so long! (more…)
