They say pride comes before a fall. That was certainly the case when I suffered a football injury recently.

Just weeks before I’d been bragging to my mates that I had been playing for years and had never had an injury and then some guy from the other team ran into me and made me fall and tear several ligaments in my leg. It wasn’t good.

As a keen fell walker, I was excited when my group arranged a visit to Scotland to climb up Ben Nevis.

I had walked a lot in the Lake District, but had never got around to climbing the highest peak in the United Kingdom.

Unfortunately, several weeks before we were due to go, I injured my foot walking. It looked like I wouldn’t make the trip.

A friend suggested some sports therapy to see whether my sports injury could be healed before we went. (more…)
