When my friend at work asked me for a recommendation for a hairdresser I panicked big time. I hate giving recommendations, as even if you think something is brilliant, the other person might hate it and then all hell could break loose. It’s not worth it!

My sister was getting married and I was in a serious hair dilemma. My shoulder length mousy locks were just getting too boring and I just didn’t think they would cut the mustard on the wedding photos.

I had a couple of days off work before the wedding to help her sort things out in the run up to the big day and I thought it would be the perfect chance to get a new wedding do. The problem was that I lived in Manchester and she lived in Cheshunt, so I didn’t know any hairdressers in the area.

I just got a new job in London and before I moved down I decided to be adventurous and go for a drastic hair change and get a short bob. Big mistake. I looked ridiculous! I’ve always had long hair and I felt naked without with my long locks. I didn’t feel like myself so I decided to get hair extensions. I was back on the dating scene after several years cohabiting with my girlfriend.

Whilst I am definitely no expert when it comes to hairdressing – just like anyone, I know when my hair is in need for a good cut and colour.

Since coming back from my holiday last month, my hair has gone into a sorry state of its own. In one word, it’s uncontrollable! I’m not sure whether it was the chlorine in the pool or the heat from the sun, but my hair has gone frizzy, unsightly and dull. (more…)
