It’s a very sad day today! I’m finally getting rid of my first car after five years of owning it. It always makes me chuckle when I think about many people’s first cars.  I love the fact that you can get away with having an old ‘chitty chitty bang bang’ style car but still think the world of it! It doesn’t seem to matter that it’s been on its last legs since you bought it, just as long as it gets you from A to B!

Well I finally decided that my car is well and truly on its last legs now. Over the five years I have had it; it’s done me proud and served a fantastic purpose. However, it’s time to get something a little more reliable as I have further to travel to and from work.

I have looked online and found a garage called www.carbreakersharlow.co.uk which is a vehicle scrappage company in Harlow. To be honest, I don’t think my car is really in a fit state to sell privately and regardless, I don’t think I would want to sell the car and risk being responsible for its failure! (more…)

Typical English summer’s day and it was raining. I had taken my car out for the day just for a ride out of the house and some fresh air. I’ve been driving for years now and so have built up a lifetime of confidence driving in all climates.

However, on this day in particular, my car swerved off the road and landed in a ditch at the side of the walkway. To be honest, I’m very lucky that it wasn’t anything more serious and that nobody else was involved, but still it’s always the case that you reflect on something when its happened. (more…)
