Getting In Shape

I always try to keep in shape, but I have to be honest and say that I have never really enjoyed exercising. One day my friend asked me if I wanted to come with her for a workout and complete some fitness training in Harlow and it completely changed the way I saw exercising. I have been running on the treadmill for half an hour twice a week for the past ten years and I have never even considered trying anything new, it was like a revelation! I decided to see if there was anything else that I would enjoy, so I looked for fitness instructors in Essex who could create a plan for me.

Finally Clearing My House

When my daughter told me that she was getting married, I was over the moon, and then she told me that she wanted to have the reception at my house, and my heart sank a bit. I still live in the house that she and her sisters grew up in, but it is not in the condition that it used to be in. Ever since I had a bad fall a couple of years ago, I’ve been unable to keep on top of the cleaning and organising in the house. My daughter said the she understood, and she would help me clear the house and get it looking great for her big day. We cleared out a lot of stuff, and had it removed by www.rubbishremovalsharlow.co.uk. They were fantastic, incredibly helpful and professional.

A proposed development of flats, shops and restaurants in Bishops Stortford has been put off for five years following the East Herts District Council’s purchase of the Apton Road car park. If the site is developed into anything other than a car park, they will have to hand over any profits that they make to the county council.

Harlow marathon runner seeks sponsorship

Local companies such as Image Worx, DM Decorative Services, The Square music venue and Radius Contract Flooring in Harlow are among the companies who are supporting a local jogger who is planning to run the London Marathon for MacMillan Cancer Support. But Keith Borgars (30) of Collins Meadow needs more sponsorship to help him reach his goal of raising £4,000.

TV show boosts Harlow hotel searches

You may be surprised to hear that hotels in Harlow are experiencing a surge in bookings due to the success of the ITV2 series The Only Way is Essex. A survey by Hotels.com found that there had been an increase of 59% in customers searching for hotels in Harlow and the surrounding areas.

The company believes that the heightened interest is due to the cult TV show which follows Essex residents Mark Wright and his friends. The survey saw even more dramatic results for searches for hotels in Brentwood, Basildon and Chigwell, locations which feature in the show.

Harlow painted pink at launch of St Clare Hospice Midnight Walk

You may have noticed a lot of pink fancy dress in Harlow on March 1st, as it was the official launch of the St Clare Hospice Midnight Walk. Volunteers, hospice staff and employees of companies who are supporting the charity event handed out pink cakes and leaflets on the day that registration for the charity walk began. The fourth annual walk will take place on Saturday June 18th.

Harlow lawyer appointed to health charity panel

Lawyers in Harlow have further increased their stellar reputation when Madeline Seibert, a partner at law firm Attwaters, was selected to join the panel ay the leading charity Action Against Medical Accidents (AvMA).

Harlow featured on BBC show Top Gear

If you are interested in cars in Harlow, you may have noticed our town appearing on the popular BBC TV show Top Gear on Sunday.

The motoring show’s three presenters, Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond made a surprise visit to the Essex County Fair, in customized BMWs cars in Harlow that had been emblazoned with the ‘Dukes of Harlow’ slogan.

Lawyers protest at proposal to close town’s courthouses

Legal professionals including solicitors in Harlow have all been campaigning against the proposed closure of the town’s magistrates and county courts.

The court have been indentified by the Ministry of Justice as one of 103 courts that are seen as underused or inadequate. They have been selected for closure as the Government try to save money and shake up the justice system.

If the courts do close, criminal, family and housing cases would be heard at the court in Chelmsford, which is 20 miles away. Civil matters would be heard in Cambridge, which is 40 miles away.
