When my husband and I needed to go and visit an ill relative abroad for a week, we decided to that our fifteen year old could be trusted to stay home alone for a week. We were wrong. When we came home, we found that our house had been completely trashed. He had had several parties, and one of his friends had decided (when drunk) that it would be a good idea to take to our kitchen with a hammer. He hit holes in all of the cupboards, and smashed the oven door. When we saw all of the damage, we were in complete shock. I couldn’t believe that my son could be so disrespectful, and my husband and I decided that the new kitchen would be coming out of his pocket money for a long time, possibly the rest of his life. When I heard my dog whimpering in the night, I was really worried. She is never ill, and very rarely cries, so I knew that something was wrong.
