My brother and I have always been close, but it’s so strange that there have been severaloccasions when we have coincidentally don’t exactly the same thing at the same time without consulting each other about it. We both got engaged within a week of each other, and we even bought houses in the same month! It’s very bizarre, but there much be some connection that keeps us doing everything at the same time. He lives in Hertfordshire, and found a really nice two up two down house for him and his wife. It was perfect for everything that they needed, but unfortunately, within a couple of weeks they had serious issue with the roof. It started leaking and they realised that they needed quite a lot of work done. Luckily, he found a great company to help with the repairs, www.roofingcontractorssouthoxhey.co.uk.

When the economic downturn happened, it was bad for everybody, but my business definitely suffered a lot. We are lucky to have survived it all really, and now we are coming out of it and I have decided to reassess my business model. I knew that we needed a restructure, but I didn’t know how to do it myself. I looked online to see if I could find a company who did it professionally, and found out about www.businessstreamliningleeds.co.uk. They specialise in helping companies streamline their costs and reduce their outgoings. I arranged to meet them and was very impressed by their professionalism and attitude. I knew that it was something that had to be done, but I was very worried about making any members of my staff redundant.

I have worked in radio since I was a teenager, and I have always enjoyed making a living out of my voice. The radio industry, like most industries, has really suffered due to the recession, so I have had to think about different ways that I can make money and find work. I decided to embark upon a freelance career. A lot of companies want people who can do voiceover work for adverts and instructional videos, but I just needed to find a way to meet them. I heard about a freelance fair that offered tips for people who were working freelance, so I decided to go to it.

You probably won’t believe me, but getting made redundant was one of the best things that has ever happened to me! I wasn’t happy in my job, and I have always wanted to try something new and start my own business, but I never had the nerve to do it. When I was given my redindancy packet, I knew that this was the perfect time for me, and I had to take advantage of the opportunity. I have always wanted own bakery, but I didn’t have a clue where to start. I needed advice from people who have been in my position before, so I decided to go to a freelance fair where there would be representatives from the business startup community who could help me and offer some guidance.

After I took early retirement from the accountancy company I had worked with for twenty years, I was looking forward to a life of leisure, but within two months I was itching to get back to work again! I have been accountant for so long that I found it hard to just sit at home. I decided to start working freelance, so I could still pick and choose my work. I started off working on the books for a few of my friends who own businesses, but then I thought that if I was really planning on doing a lot of freelance jobs, I could do with some guidance.

My wife and I had been engaged for ten years, when one day, we just decided to get married. Our wedding was a bit of a rushed affair, as you can imagine, but the people who matter the most to us managed to come, so it really was everything that we could have asked for. No one seems to have any money these days, and that is why we were so touched when our nearest and dearest presented us with their weddiong present, a week away at www.cottageholidaysnewry.co.uk. We both love Northern Ireland, and were over the moon with our gift.

This economic recession has really hit everybody hard. At first I found it really difficult to deal with my finances, but now I think I can say that in some ways, having less money has helped me to discover certain places that I never would have considered visiting before. When my partner and I were a bit more affluent, we always went on holiday abroad every summer, but in the past few years we have been holidaying in the UK. It has been such an eye opener, there are so many gorgeous places to see in Britain, it has really surprised me. Recently, we visited Guernsey and stayed at www.selfcateringholidaysguernsey.co.uk.

The world of internet marketing can be quite daunting, especially to a technophobe like me. I’m an accountant, and my field of work is very competitive. I have tried for years to avoid getting involved with the internet, but I had to give up when I realised that other companies were being found online when I didn’t have any kind on online presence. I really believe that the services that my independent company offer are better than those provided by some other companies who get found online, so I decided to be proactive and get some help from people who know what they are doing. I searched for a company who could help me, and I found www.infoservemarketing.com. They specialise in providing internet marketing solutions to local businesses like mine.

During summers while I was at university, I got jobs working in telesales. I was really surprised at how successful I was in a telemarketing role but I was more surprised because I enjoyed the work so much. I love talking to people and I think that if you are friendly and polite, people respond well to you. After I finished university I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do, and then I thought about how much I had enjoyed telesales and I decided that this was a good career route for me. I looked for jobs in telesales and luckily I found www.telesalesjobsleeds.infoservegroup.com.

I really enjoy my job. I work as one of the ‘character actors’ at a museum that recreates the 19th century. I work in the textiles area of the museum, and I work on the loom. During one of the school trips I was demonstrating the loom and my hair got caught on the thread. I was pulled towards the machine and while I was trying to stop the machine, my hand got jammed. It sounds very dramatic but I was more worried about what the kids were seeing rather than my hand. After I got my hand out, I thought that it was ok, but after a couple of days I realised that I was really badly hurt and I needed expensive surgery as fast as possible. I needed to claim for the accident because it wasn’t my fault, so I got in touch with www.personalinjurysolicitorsballymena.co.uk.
