We are at that time of year when arguments get underway in households centering on the emotive issue the switching on of the central heating! There is usually a group wanting to have the heating on and a second group doing as much as they can to keep it switched off. I decided to treat my boyfriend to a surprise thirtieth birthday party in Burton. It is where he grew up and still has some family living there.
I wanted to invite old friends of his from Burton. His mum was a great help and managed to track down a few. I looked up some of them from his Facebook and secretly sent them an invite. I have the perfect swimming gear…just not the perfect body to wear it on. As I am going on holiday soon I really do need to get fit.

What I don’t like about the British climate is it unpredictability. We have a couple of days of sunshine which makes us all feel there is no finer place you would rather be in the world.
